more pisc. These are of Mountain Day (yesterday), which is a day that the President Declares, and all classes are cancelled. We have to sing for it though, outside his house - we sing all of our school songs and such - for as long as a week before he declares Mountain Day. Anyways, there are a bunch of activities then and such. It was a really pretty day so we decided to put off our homework until the last minute to enjoy it!

Me, Jenn, and Melissa looking "thoughtful and smart" outside of the Mark Twain Study :-P (his study was moved from Quarry Farm in the town where the college is to the College Campus so it wouldn't get vandalized anymore. Twain wrote Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer and a few other stories in Elmira)

Ooh Jess it all looks so fun and dinky! The picture of that archway really reminds me of univeristies here (well, thats probably because you copied us, hehe). You look like you're having the best time! Loving the jacket! hehe

haha yeah, i love the buildings here, they're all really pretty. In the pic of me and dixie is the original building of Elmira College, it was only one building then because it was the first Women's College in America and had like, 5 girls attending the first year :-P

and thanks, i love that jacket too! i got it at Old Navy - i have a red one that's kind of like it too. i love them, and they're perfect for this kind of weather

We only have Sydney Uni that's some sort of historical building ... don't forget Australia all together is only 200 years old! D'oh!!!
The OLDEST Uni is 150 years old!!!

yeah most of the private colleges (in ny anyway) have either historical buildings or historical looking buildings. Elmira began in 1855, but the original building, Cowles Hall, is like, falling apart, so they have to go back and renovate it :-P
