I hate when they completely tear the original version of a song off an album to replace it with the single version on subsequent releases of the album.  I remember that happened to Christina Aguilera's first album twice.  (Oddly enough, anytime I hear "What A Girl Wants" or "Come On Over Baby" on Muzak, they always play the original album versions.)  I think it's okay to start including the new single/radio version on the album, but they should never completely replace it.

Yeah.

Pretty Baby isn't a song I really listen to (just because I like her other songs better), so I'm not sure which version I prefer. The single version is cool, but perhaps a touch cheesy in parts... does anyone agree?

I agree its a bit cheesy but my gf likes it and she wants to hear another version! so i hav 3 versions now!

I think it's because like...

The record company pay for so many songs on an album (e.g. they could buy 10 songs to put on an album), and so obviously if they want any more, they have to pay out extra cash. Sooo, it would save them money by just getting rid of one track and replacing it with another.

It would be nice to have the idea that you (and others) put forward, but nowadays it's all about the $$$$ unfortunetley :(

ahhh. okay i was wondering why dont they just include BOTH versions. i guess commercially it makes sense, but i really -hate- having like, one version of a song and not another. it just feels like you dont have the complete set or something...not sure if anyone would know what i mean though!
