My favorite band is Staind. Most people have at least heard of them thanks to "Outside" & "It's Been Awhile", two monster hits from last year. There's a new CD coming out on May 20th called "14 Shades Of Grey" which I can't wait for!
First time I heard of them was with "Mudshovel" in 1999, but I didn't like it much at first, thought it was too hard, then they released "Home" as a single and I was totally hooked! And since that time "Mudshovel" has become a favorite too, true its hard but at the same time one of the most lyrically powerful. Any time I'm angry or pissed off, thats the song to crank up.

I wonder who's bright idea this pic was?

They put on an amazing live show. I saw them on Family Values 2001 and they were so good I didn't even stay for the headliner(STP). But unfortunantly I've never got to meet any of them. Downfalls of big artists doing arena rock. But it's alright, they're still my favorite band!

The new single "Price To Play" hits radio today! You can hear the entire thing on their ECARD:
http://www.bandbuilder.com/staind/

It okay, but its no where near as powerful as "Its Been Awhile" the lead single from their last album, but I like it! I'm totally jazzed for the new album! Question is, can I resist the urge to listen to the leaked version before I have the album in my hands?? I'm gonna try.

news bit:
---------------------------
When it comes to Aaron Lewis' songwriting, nothing is in black and white. 14 Shades of Grey, to be released May 20, contains 14 songs that Lewis describes as "more mature" than Staind's previous releases.

While the lyrics on Tormented, Dysfunction, and Break the Cycle dealt mostly with Lewis' depression, 14 Shades of Grey branches out a bit. "Sometimes it's a little more difficult to figure things out and fix them," says Lewis, and his lyrics explore this theme as well as many others.

The first single, "Price to Play," is a comment on the music industry while "Zoe" is inspierd by his 1-year-old daughter and "Layne" is a tribute to the late Alice in Chains frontman Layne Staley.

Included with the CD will be a limited edition DVD that contains footage of the band throughout their career.

I'm listening to the world premiere radio broadcast.
And they just got done with "How About You"! It's such a good song!

Now they're playing Price To Play.

Some good interviews too!
