I'm in favor!  Plasma it too expensive and too easy to damage.  (Burn in, burn in!!!)  Maybe LCD is hard to see from a distance, but I use LCD for everything now (except the TV in the living room, but money's tight) and I have no complaints.  It's easy on the eyes, too.
