They grow 'em young in country music.

16 year old Taylor Swift from Wyomissing, PA caught my ear tonight when I was listening to the radio. Her debut single, "Tim McGraw" (gotta make that guy feel old, people are making songs about his music, lol) is pretty good. I liked it. I like the other song she has on MySpace, too.

At 15 years old Taylor became the youngest recruit to Big Machine Records, a joint venture between former Dreamworks executive Scott Borchetta and country superstar Toby Keith.

Taylor's self-titled debut came out today.

It is actually really good. I like it!  :D

She kind of reminds me a bit of Avril vocally. I am definitely diggin' the tunes. So far my favorites other than "Tim McGraw" are "Our Song", "Teardrops on my Guitar" and "Cold As You". The whole album is solid, check it out!

wow! I'm actually not much of a country fan (at all, to be honest)... but she is strangely appealing. And her voice definitely does not match her age. thanks for pointing her out. not sure if i'll buy her album yet though...

"Tim McGraw" I found to be a little cheesy but I really like the second single "Teardrops on my Guitar" alot. It was good enough to interest me enough to peep the whole album. Jury is still out on the album as a whole but the girl has a lot of potential, and needed a good bump from me.

TomG is probably my second favorite song on the album after Cold As You.

A lot of the songs on the album are kind of cliche, but overall I think she has a lot of potential and I really dig the album, even almost 6 months after it released.  :)

She's got a lovely voice. I'm going to get her debut album. She's opening for my favourite Guitar player, Brad Paisley. I realised no one actually replied on my Brad Paisley thread   < please do [pretty please].

Today is Taylor's birthday! She is no longer jail bait now, LOL.

I enjoyed watching the extra content on her CD/DVD re-release. Her Christmas album isn't bad either, although I'm not much of a Christmas music listener. They actually play "Teardrops on my Guitar" on the pop station here. The first time I heard it I was confused

She's on my cool list.  I'm from Tennessee, and I say she has an accent.  Her O's in particular.  But I like what I've heard, and I keep hearing good things from others.  I may have to check her out sometime.

Teardrops On My Guitar is the story of my life (with appropriate gender modifications, of course.) :P
And needless to say you're the one that I need the most...
