Well... you know what... they could remake every single damn Avril La-fucknut song and I would still choose them anyday.  At least the music would be coming from 4 girls with pleasant personalities than some whiney bitch who has some serious growing up to do.

The day they spout off about being punk is the day I know it's all over.  I don't dig the music, but there's nothing against them as a band...yet.  Avril wasn't bad at first either.  Then she's all "Blah...I'm punk...I'm hardcore...I'm so cool"  As long as they don't do that, they should be ok.

IMHO, NONE of the bands out right now that are calling themselves "punk" or being labeled as punk, really are......

Avril didn't bother me at first either, but I think because her songs were totally overplayed I got really sick of her really fast...

Oh really?  None of them, hu?  So, for example, Brand New... they aren't punk?  Or what about the Transplants?  Tim Armstrong?  he's not punk?  Face to Face?  Are they punk?

I think what you MEANT to say is that none of the bands being played on MTV that call themselves punk are punk.  Even that is arguable.. there's a fine line between punk and Indy rock.

  Well, like I said, there is a thinline between punk, indy rock and hardcore.  Like, i dont know that I would call AFI or Thursday punk... but I would call them hardcore... which is damn near the samething. Although, i dont know if Thursday every got played on MTV.... just MTV2 maybe.
 You could make a strong argument that the White Stripes and the Strokes are punk.  They are HEAVILY influenced by the NY original punk bands.  They are both very much in the veign of the Ramones and the sex pistols, etc.
  Who knows what they call themselves though.
