Brokeback Mountain - extremely, extremely, extremely good! I read the short story last year before I heard they were making a movie. It was beautifully shot, well written, and amazingly acted by Jake and Heath. Ang Lee desrved his Oscar!
Capote - Brilliant! PSH was amazing, definately a well deserved Oscar. And who knew the guy from Judging Amy could put together a deeply researched, well written script on his first attempt at a screenplay! I loved how Harper Lee had a supporting role and the way To Kill A Mockinbird (my favorite book) was worked into the script.
Flight Plan - didn't live up to my expectations. It was supposed to be a thriller of sorts but I wasn't really thrilled. Peter Sarsgaard was pretty good, and Sean Bean was yummy as usual.
Elizabethtown - some good moments but again, didn't live up to the hype. Cameron Crowe has done some great work like Almost Famous and Vanilla Sky, but Elizabethtown fell flat for me. Although it was great to see Paula Dean in a movie!!!!! Go FoodNetwork!
Walk the Line - Fabulous! Can't think of much more than that.
Da Vinci - Major let down for me. I thought Tom Hanks played an awful Robert Langon. Liberties were taken with the plot (especially at the end) that were rediculous, and there was NO chemistry between Audrey Tatau and Tom. Iam McKellen's performance was the only saving grace to the film. They should have made it into the Teabing Show for all the good the rest of the film did. And, (this is Dan Brown's fault) there are NO monks in Opus Dei!
