^^^ that's not /entirely/ true. She did have the album Rinse, which I believe had the song Rinse on it. I think. I watched a live recording of rinse on youtube from way back where she says how she wanted to avoid ever having an album name that was the same as the song, so she named the album rinse, and then accidentally wrote a song called rinse after she named the album. or something like that.

What I believe she said is that she didn't want an album named after a major song on the album, which is what most artists do and have done for decades.  If an album of hers takes its name from a song on the album, it would be one that's, like, not single material.

me too... I hope that it isn't titled Heroes and Thieves... I like it when she uses a more original title instead of choosing a song on the cd to name it after :?

I think Heroes and Thieves is a good album title.

My fav item title/ album cover of all time is probably Rumors by Fleetwood Mac. Cool title, cool photo (Well, Stevie looks cool in it. The guy, haha not so much) :)

I thought that the album Rinse was recorded before the actually song was written?

Nope, the song "Rinse" was on the album "Rinse."  At one of those old Bitter End performances she says she didn't want the name of the album to be the same as any of the songs & she thought of it as an album name first...but ended up writing a song with that title.  (Sorry if that's confusing...I'm really out of it right now.)

I think that Heroes and Thieves is a cool title for an album, but I haven't made my mind up about the song yet. I do think that it's better to give albums a title that isn't also the name of a song though, because it can represent the album as a whole, as a collection, rather than showing a bias toward one particular song. That can make it seem like that song is somehow the most 'important' song on the album, which shouldn't be the case.
