She is playing at the "Bitter End" in nyc on November 7th at 9:15

The name of the place might sound familiar...

Coolness.  Hope it hits big; or at least as successful as she wants it. (and yeah, I'm still around(on the board).  Won't be if you don't want me to be.)

Happy Birthday!

Well, at least there are no donkeys involved. I think.   ;)

I don't even care anymore.  From everything I've seen she's a terrible person.

You are my pomegranate cooking hero. :)

Growing tour dates listed on her myspace as well as getting more exposure in other ways.

She played at SXSW.  Here is a link to part of a recording: http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/5588785

Book a house show while you can.

I think it was pretty cool.

Yeah. I didn't have the heart to tell her that she has more chance of landing on Mars than she does of getting a reply from Vanessa on Twitter. But that was nice of Mrs Branch.

She could have sent a private tweet.  We don't know.

But your comment reminded me of a story in the newspaper about a guy who got excited about receiving a one word e-mail from Steve Jobs.  http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/25/technology/25apple.html

It was pretty cool dream. In the dreams, she wrote like seven or eight books based on her songs and they were white books. I wonder if she will write a book. XD

Any dreams you guys had recently? :P It's rare for me to get a V dream :/

not on dreams, but i feel like somewhere/sometime we got a mention that v writes (articles?) and is (to be?) published somewhere.

someone tell me if i am making this up.

If you were Carlton, what kind of pen name do you think you'd come up with?  Nora Roberts(which in itself is kind of pen name) used J.D. Robb,  and Samuel Clemens used Mark Twain.

It could be already done already and ready to be released this spring.

Also, she could be working hard and that is why she doesn't contact us with info.  She could be working another job, working with other people on projects like Music Unites, or trying to draw inspiration for music.  It's not exactly easy promoting yourself and your music.  It's a lot of work.  And a lot of it isn't fun.  I don't know personally, but I think a lot of you know.

So just relax. :)

I don't think we should take any offence in communicating with us more.  I think she is just a type of person I'm starting to call Neo-Amish.  Someone who shuns technogy .  There is a lot of them around where I live.  They are usually yuppies who drive a prius because it proves their point  that technology is bad and will kill you eventually.  It is also bad for the environment because you hurt the tree when you run into it.

The amount of faith varies from person to person.

lol i know shes stated this before...but i dunno seems too me that shes in the wrong business if she shuns technology.

I'm glad you could appreciate my humor.  :)  I was mostly kidding.  Except the part of calling some people Neo-Amish.  It comes from me asking one person if he was Amish as part of a larger conversation.  The reaction was funny.

I don't think you need to be that tech-savy to be a musician.  But I'm just poking fun.  Does VC use electricity?

Completely Off-Topic / Re: Lisa Hannigan plays the harmonium
« on: February 19, 2010, 01:40:34 pm »
I watched the video in that blog post and one of the things I noticed was that the character was using a pick axe when it would seem he should have been using the shovel the whole time.  And then because he was using the pick axe he must have broken into an underground aqueduct which would account for all the water.

Always call before you dig.  ;)

BUT on topic,  I wonder if she is really going to steal it.  I wonder what Freud would say about harmonium envy.  :)
