apparently the weekly stats are set to update for different days...
not sure yet, but I think it's safe to say the total for Vanessa Carlton in general is every Monday.

Carousel is a few days behind, but when it was last updated, the stats are:
6,128 Scrobbles
571 Listeners (really 661 listeners at least according to the stats below and that's only assuming EVERYONE who has ever listened to Carousel listened to it last week, so the number is possibly even higher. we have to wait for the next update to see)
http://www.last.fm/music/Vanessa+Carlton/_/Carousel

----
now here's how Carousel did within its first week with Last.fm users. (in relation to other VC songs)

------------------------

1      A Thousand Miles 3,531
2      White Houses 1,160
3      Ordinary Day 1,039
4      Carousel 661
5      Hands On Me 456
6      Nolita Fairytale 422
7      Who's To Say 421
8      Pretty Baby 411
9      Twilight 314
10      Paint It Black 296
11      Rinse 269
12      San Francisco 252
13      Heroes & Thieves 242
14      Paradise 231
15      Unsung 225

looking good! Carousel beat out Hands On Me! still pretty far away from Ordinary Day and White Houses, but not bad for its first week.
let's hope it'll rise more and do better for next week's stats  ;D

oh Kulp, I didn't see your edit! Thanks for the help !  I think I got it now.  I've got vanessa radio going, but only 1 nessa song played so far..

You might get a couple of her songs, but generally it will throw up artists that are very similar to her, great way to discover some new music, still don't get the scrobbling thing myself, but will have a read up.

yeah, I'm there with you, it's a bit confusing for me at the moment, but it seems very similar to Pandora, which I use occasionally. I have my itunes open so hopefully my songs are being shared?

Do you mean being copied over to your last fm?

ummm, I really don't know. LOL!  I can be a bit hard headed!  I guess I don't understand how it all works, So I just hoep for the best.

14      Nolita Fairytale -- 418
14      Hands On Me -- 418

Carousel beat out White Houses!!!!!! woo!
I Don't Want to Be a Bride and London did real well!

of course, it's expected when listening to a new album, that the first few tracks will have a higher play count that the rest.
it happens sometimes that people will listen to only the first few songs.

Also, Carousel has had a lot of TV time recently, so I'm sure that helped out a lot!!
ATM also went up a bit, so at least people are seeing more to Vanessa and getting reminded of who she is and listening to ATM more.
That's good too I guess...

 ;D

I'm excited to see next week's statistics, this is exciting! Hopefully they'll go up...and not down...

You can definitely see that the new album is getting some attention though. Very good!!!

4   White Houses -- 1,051
5   Fairweather Friend -- 1,026

Carousel still kept the #2 spot, and surprisingly, even London surpassed White Houses! wow!
looks like IDWBAB fell a tiny bit though.

The new album is still doing really well as a whole though, I'm slightly surprised =)
YAY!!!!!
looks like in general this chart is better than the last one (meaning generally more listeners, a VERY good thing!!)
