Hi peeps
I thought the 'Sideways' thread was the most appropriate place to add TNs
(Tasing Notes) on a 'New World' Pinot Noir so here goes... Hare's Bredth '06
Relatively deep ruby-red with evident clarity and a youthful edge. The nose
starts off with masses of concentrated cherry and damsom plum fruit with a
twist of spice and that irrepressable forest floor/sous bois note. An evolving
wine that starts to show off beetroot, rhubarb, violets and a myriad of all of
the best attributes of Red Burgundy ;to think this wine only retails @AU$55!
The Zerrutti Supertaster wasn't of size sufficient for the wine, so I put it into
a Lipton Ice balloon and it started to show so much more complexity! Clearly
a brooding pinot with much more enjoyability ahead of it. Best cellared for a
year or 5, to develop into something really interesting. The limitation will be
the degree of filtration... its going to lack complexity with this much fining
95.5 / 100 just the same... this from a winery with a 'Mojo' label below it!
Peace
Aaron
