Assault With a Sticky Weapon"Police said it seems like there's been an increase in the use of duct tape in violent crimes recently," reports the Philadelphia Daily News. Among at least seven Philly-area duct-tape crimes are these three:
Sticky, silver duct tape covered the mouth of a murder victim found in Tacony Creek Park in the Northeast on Sunday.
Last month an armless man washed up on the shore of the Schuylkill. His legs were bound in duct tape.
And Bucks County mom Colleen Broe was arrested last month and accused of wrapping her foster kids in duct tape.
"Police don't track duct tape crimes," the paper adds, "so cops don't know how the current situation compares with previous years."
"Duct tape in the wrong hands is a dangerous weapon," he said, "but so is a hand egg-beater."
