Walk to raise awareness
« on: October 24, 2003, 07:26:30 pm »
If not, would you be willing to help me to walk a 1000 miles to help raise awareness of my mental health?  I'm going to need alot of squid to do it.

But seriously, we could organize it so it would be held in major cities.  And with enough people it would be like a 5 mile walk, maybe more, maybe less, depending on how many people are willing to participate.

EDIT: Before deciding check out this post by gottawearshades on the VCMB:

Yeah, in fact it IS the same idea essentially.  I wasn't sure if I should put this poll here or there but I figured a poll was needed because I wasn't sure how many people are really interested in the thread at this point  --a poll would give more or less concrete numbers so I could have some idea how to do the math.  With 6 people it comes out to be 166 and 2/3 miles each.  But the more people who are interested the smaller that becomes.  I also found a cause for the walk, indicated by the link provided for the VCMB above.

Well it is down to roughly 143 miles each.  Anyone else interested?

yeah, more ppl need to do it in order for it to work, otherwise it nevvvver will. but it'll take LOTS of planning, but i'm more than willing to play a huge part in it if things really get under way!

When do you think we should shoot for as the day it is supposed to happen?  Maybe late spring/ early summer.  Is that too soon?  I'm a bit ahead of it all since we only have 7 people now  , but oh well.  We would need people in each of the cities to coordinate stuff in each place.
