lol ok I admit he doesnt suck but there is noway in hell ur going to get away with saying he is the greatest goalie ever...You just cant compare goalies now to goalies in the 60's and 70's. The first reason is the equipment is way bigger and way lighter now then it was back then. The second reason is there was way more talent back then there is now. Now each team has maybe 2 lines with good scorers but back then each team had at least 3 lines sometimes 4 lines of good goal scorers.
I LOVE people who try to argue this. Trying to say that the classic "greats" of any sport were so much better than modern players. LOL!
Let me explain a few things to you.
People today are FAST, SMARTER, and STRONGER than they were 30 years ago. These are FACTS. Tests SHOW this. We have better understandings of health and fitness and training.
There was NOT more talent in hockey in the 60's and 70's. In fact, there was LESS. But the defenses weren't as good which made the offensive players look better.
A goalie back then didn't HAVE to be as good because the offenses were't as good. And the 4th lines looked better because the FIRST lines weren't that good!
I'd take the 2nd line of ANY team in the NHL (even the PANTHERS) against the first line of any team from the 60's. Including olympic teams.
