Dude that's awesome!!!!
Dylan is one of the greatest inspirations ever... I love the Blood On The Tracks album!!
and his song "Standing In The Doorway" is one of the saddest songs I've ever heard, its from his Time Out Of Mind album.

Enjoy the concert!

So it was weird last night.  Im standing there listening to these GREAT songs..... and thinking, dammit he cannot sing at ALL anymore.  I mean he's never been a good singer by any means... but he atleast TRIED.  Now he just SPEAKS the lyrics.  And even at THAT his voice cracks constantly.

And the strangest part was we got a stretch of the 4 greatest SONGS i've ever heard live (Watchtower, Rainy Day woman, Forever Young, Rolling Stone) and the entire time I'm like "wow, he sounds HORRIBLE".  He really needs to stop touring or something cause hes just lost it.

None the less, im glad I went just to be able to tell people that I heard Bob Dylan sing "Lay Lady Lay" live.  Which is my fav Dylan song EVER.

Isn't he touring with someone this summer? I forget who...I could be totally wrong though.

Yes! He is... The Dead (the remaining members of the Grateful Dead).  Could be an interesting show.  Strangely enough, both acts are over the hill musicians without a singer! lol.

I thought it was the greatful dead...I was going to say that, but I didn't want to look foolish if I was wrong. That sounds like it's going to be a good show. I wonder if they're still going to battling drum thing with the alien trippy music...should be a great show

David,
It's spelled GRATEFUL.  Dead fans get snippy about that.  Don't want you to get yelled at by hippies

And its not actually the Grateful dead.  Its just "The Dead".  Thats what they are calling this group of remaining members.

I saw Bob a couple of years ago in Memphis.  As his bus was approaching the stage, we all got a display of bare buttcheeks pressed up against the window!  But anyway, the show was really good.  Musically, he offered new interpretations of all his classic works, and yes, I noticed that his voice is failing him, much moreso than in the past, but it was so great to see him (and Willie Nelson in the same night) live onstage.  I'll never forget it, and I'm sure he never will either, as my cousin, right in front of the stage, was lying on the ground tripping on LSD with a huddle of people standing around him.

I am taking an American Popular Music course, and there is a History of Rock and Roll subclass (it is broken into the main lecture and one of three different subclass lectures you can take, and I took the Rock & Roll one), and Thursday we spent the entire hour listening to a bunch of Bob Dylan stuff. It is actually pretty good. You can really tell how his stuff helped to change eras and such.  8)
