It was probably on there because of Channel One (news channel broadcast to numerous high/middle schools in the U.S.). In that year, they really promoted her a lot, and it was the only year I got to watch it so, it was pretty cool. They also play a Maria Mena song not even released in the U.S. on a commercial, so I thought that there must be a music fan in the background for C1. ^_^

I used to watch Channel 1 when I was in Middle School and High School.

I hated it. lol
And it's bad news, baby it's bad news
It's just bad news, bad news, bad news
'Cause you're just damage control
For a walking corpse like me - like you,
'Cause we'll all be portions for foxes
Yeah, we'll all be portions for foxes.

It's a news program geared for Middle School and High School students that's broadcast for about half an hour during the home room morning period of school usually. It features current event issues and the like, but it's all packaged and made for younger people.

It's like if CNN had a bastard child with MTV, and the child was heavily censored and simplified. lol
