New Dog...advice?
« on: August 29, 2007, 12:51:56 pm »
I have had our one dog for like 7 years now named Puffy hes a good dog and all. 2 days ago we got a new dog named Daisy and I was just wondering if anyone had tips on who to get like dogs to like eachother not like love but you know what I mean...

Puffy just like runs away when she comes near him so I mean at least hes not being mean. But any tips on how to get them closer? Thanks.

Well the 1st the day i got my new dog, we introduced them to eachother on leashes, they both went  wild, and the new dog was making the craziest sound ever [which she does a lot now]. But yea, we kept them in the same place, but blocked them off from eachother, and soon they got to know eachother, and know there fine  :D

Your signature is beautiful, Heroesandtheives!
But to be honest, I think in this situation its best to stop being stingy and just get a trainer =)

Congrats on the new dog. :D

But I don't see why you should get a trainer to make the dogs like eachother :?
I think the best thing is just to leave them alone.

I had 2 cats for a couple of years, and then we got a dog. At first they were a bit scared, but after a while they even started playing with eachother. (A lot of fun to see a dog and 2 cats play together)
I bet it'll be the same for your two dogs.
It could take some time, be patient ;)

I agree with Si. A dog trainer would be a waste of money! They are dogs. They will eventually get used to each other =) I'd only get consultation if they have serrrrrious issues with each other, and they probably don't!

Did you get a dog trainer yet? It would make everything so much easier, you know.
