What's the deal with "Rinse"?

For God's sakes stop making vanessa carlton a gay and/or feminine issue.  If guys weren't known to like football, and it still existed, it would instantly become a banner of femininity because of all the chicks who just go to see guys running around in tights.  It would suddenly be "gay" for the same reason.  Football team's uniforms would be in pink, pastels, and purple.  Transsexual players would have long fingernails and boobs.

Why?  I always feel like a mature guy listening to a story about some girl losing her virginity.  Not all male to female relationships have to do with the validation of your sexuality.  For instance, if you ever had a sister or a daughter, listening to such a story from her wouldn't make you gay.  It might make you uncomfortable in those specific cases.  It would be a more serious or mature conversation and perspective.  Or if you were listening to some lady telling a group a story and opening up, where she is married or is going out with your best friend.  In such cases it wouldn't make you gay and it would be silly to feel that way.  It might not be your topic of choice, but if you are a certain type of person who likes interesting involved conversation you might be able to appreciate it for what it is on a mature level.

well I like rinse and I'm a girl... I guess its cause a lotta girls can relate to its lyrics for one reason or another. Oh and I dont think guys are generally gay if they like Vanessa. Lots of guys secretly like piano based music but wont admit it through fear of seeming gay if they want to seem manly.

It really has nothing to do with the validation of anyone's sexuality. It's just that some people are more inclined to prefer certain types of music as opposed to others. And in Psychological research, most of the lines are drawn between the masculine and feminine, and are compared against one another, gender lines are the basis for a lot of studies.

I'm not trying to make Vanessa a feminine/gay issue, because guess what Tylor, it's not an issue. People listening to Vanessa - regardless as to their gender or sexuality, is awesome, it's just an observation.
And it's bad news, baby it's bad news
It's just bad news, bad news, bad news
'Cause you're just damage control
For a walking corpse like me - like you,
'Cause we'll all be portions for foxes
Yeah, we'll all be portions for foxes.

I really beg to differ on the boys and girls act the same thing. Maybe in cities, but not everywhere. Here no man would dare listen to Vanessa Carlton. Except me of course.

I mean, I wouldn't consider Cincinnati a big city, but I go to an all guy school and there are at least 4 or 5 other guys I know that like Vanessa and none of them are gay - or flaming or out, for that matter. I am not gay and I love V's music.
