thanks! interesting to see behind the scenes. I actually thought they smashed the actual piano from ATM, but I guess they just built a hollow one and smashed that. The real one would've probably torn that poor cab apart.

mmhmm I remember her saying in an interview or something that the piano did not even work so she pushed on the keys but thats all it really did.

that was awesome!  I love the comment Irv makes about Vanessa's music being "forever music"

That was cool. It looked to me though, that they rebuilt one that looks exactly like the one in ATM, but made it hollow, still.

I think the word he was really looking for was "timeless". Some music is referred to as timeless, not as being "forever."

But we all already know he doesn't have much of a way with words, aka - "V IS THE FUCKING SHIT!!!"

Me too, and I completely agree with that statement.  I was actually just thinking about this today- how her music isn't dated, and it doesn't seem like the type to be dated.

Her music, in general, has a universal theme, and since she doesn't mold her songs to fitting the format of that song that's hot for half a year and played on the radio 20394730274 times a day, she has something to offer that is TRULY inspired.  Vanessa stands out; she doesn't compare to or sound much like anyone else out there right now.

Who thinks they'll remember "Umbrella" in ten years?

Irv and V is an unexpected match made in music biz heaven!  I love how he supports her.
sig & av by natalie, thank you!

Umbrella is actually a really good song, aside from the fact that Rihanna's performed the original version (whom I actually like a lot), it's an awesome song from a musical standpoint, it has a great melody. I mean, there are so many covers of that song, it's just a testament that Umbrella itself is a great piece of writing. Mandy Moore, Plain White T's, Scott Simon and others have covered the song, there's tons of covers up on YouTube.

Don't knock a song because you don't like the way it was produced and performed, there a lot great songs from a writing stand point that don't always have the best production.

And besides, Umbrella will be remembered more often than most of Vanessa's work, I gaurantee that, and it's only because Rihanna's more popular. *Shrugs*
