I can't believe everybody thought it would be slow. I mean, come on, it was really fast when she played it solo. The album version was exactly like I thought it would be.

I didn't necessarily think it would be slow... I just figured it would keep the same sortof mood that the acoustic version had. Heck, even the portion of the song before the first hook shared the mood.

And then the hook just added too much... there was no buildup, just a valley turning into a quick peak, then going into a valley, and then peaking... then peaking higher with the obnoxious chorus at the end.

The arrangement didn't evoke feelings of love... or despair... or whatever that feeling is when you have fallen for someone and want them to see you how you see them (that's the best I could think of).

Instead... I was just confused.

On first listen, this actually didn't blow me away like I thought it would. However, after a couple more repeats, I really began to start loving the album as a whole and not just picking on individual songs like I did with the last two. In my opinion, if Be Not Nobody was a rusty old penny and Harmonium a shiny piece of gold, Heroes and Thieves would have to be like a sparkling diamond. No longer do I have to stop paying attention when the songs in major keys are over; now I can really appreciate an entire album as a whole. All the production is pretty amazing too, much more interesting to listen to than all the acoustic sadness.

PS: I hope I'm not the only one that thinks My Best is the birthchild of Best Behaviour. Their subject matters are pretty similar and it's a bit of a stretch but there is a bit of recycled melody in there.

since people are posting reviews ill give you mine...

Nolita Fairytale - It's pretty good but its not a song i can fully feel apart of or make it fit my own feelings and life. It's HER story and song

Hands On Me - Though the original name was pretty long, this seems to short. This song is so overproduced that it makes me want to cry. Maybe ill grow to love it but V and a piano will always have that place in my heart.

Spring Street - I can't stand the 'Na, Na, Na's' but aside from that I love it. SADLY there are a LOAD of Na, Na, Na's

My Best - I am not fond of this song.. period

Come Undone - This song is something that could possibly grow on me, but I feel right now the song doesn’t go anywhere. BUT The ending is very nice..

The One -   This song is pretty good and I don't mind Stevie but I happen to be in love with Rumors and that probably keeps me on that side.

Heroes and Thieves - I LOVE the demo on this one so its possible I have demo-itis. Overall the song is pretty good but just a smidge too upbeat for me.

This Time - this is a weak sounding song, but it's very RAW and I like that about V.

Fools Like Me - EHHHH This might grow on me, there are some really strong and great parts of this song and a few weak parts. I'll get over it.

Home – I love it, respect it and get it.

More Than This – I can’t stand the awkward notes, and the song goes nowhere for me. The choir is too cliché for me and this song just doesn’t work for me.




I know that if I instantly liked all of these songs then it would be too easy listening and easy to be tired of.

I've always known Nessa to have a streak of genius and to do what she needed to do. There have been a couple times where I just didnt get 'it' and questioned her ways and realized later I just wasn’t ready.

The main reason I listened to the leak is because I already pre-ordered and couldn’t contain myself, but sadly this album slightly disappointed me.


I think this was an album she just had to make for herself and I appreciate that.

I’m gonna have to say Harmonium has my heart and will probably keep ahold of it until possibly the next album.

Demo-itis sucks btw

Someone already pointed out that the CD is going to be enhanced with with the Nolita Fairytale video. As for hidden tracks and stuff, I don't think we're going to get it. However, there's always hope for the Japanese Bonus CD.

Well I'm chuffed with the album the way it is! I don't feel the need to hear more songs then we have, after all we're lucky we have her music anyway- just be thankful!!  :lol:
