eh when she plays it, it takes on a darker tone than any of the other songs from H&T. So I think she chose This Time and such over All Is Well to keep the fairy tale theme going. It would be weird to have a harmonium style song on H&T *the song reminds me so much of Harmonium to me*. I think it would just throw the flow of the songs off. But I def. want a studio version of All is Well. It's one of my fav. songs!

It makes sense.... but the inclusion of "All is Well" and other songs with a darker tone would have made it a more balanced album, one I would actually listen to. I know I'm not the only Harmonium fan who would feel that way. I think Harmonium was balanced because it had songs like San Fransico and Afterglow along with the darker songs. Personally I would have loved it if it were all dark, and I'm aware that some others wouldn't, and prefer the style of H&T, but to go from Harmonium which to me is painted from a deep and rich palette to the light pastels of H&T is alienating to me as a listener. I know most people don't feel that way, but I'm not the only one. The song "All is Well" was reassuring to me; it showed that Vanessa was still Vanessa... but then she (or her label) rejected it. To me, that makes a big statement.

I def. agree with you on this one. I think in a way it would balance it the cd out after thinking about it. I just think her and or her label decided against it was because they wanted the record to be as marketable as possible, even though they did not really market it as much. But than again I don't know how well AIW would have been marketable without a studio version. Plus I think AIW is ten times better than This Time. I remember reading in a few reviews of the cd saying This Time was not the best of songs due to her voice or something like that. I just wish they put it on the CD.

I really think they should have put this on the alblum, i dont know what song they would get rid of but it should have definately been on the alblum.

She screwed up big time by leaving All is Well and Best Behavior off the album.

yeah it's not her that screwed up is it? it's the record label that wouldn't let her put the song on hat. so maybe all of us will have something to look forward to on her next album i hope

Unfortunately we thought that for Morning Sting, Best Behavior/Only You, and others that didnt make the alblum. I doubt it will be on the next. If she did put song like that on her next alblum along with some new ones and the finished veision of what some people call "just a dream" it would make a really good alblum.

Yeah, Morning Sting is my favourite VC song. I guess I'll have to record my own version, lol.
She said it "didn't work out" and it wasn't coz it's crap. So why else wouldn't it work out?  :cry:

i thought i was just being weird when i play with emotion (like she starts out...like swaying with the music and stuff)

I like love swindler. Wasnt there an interview where they where talking to her about how her demos and rinse leaked, and she said she would like to do an alblum of B sides and that kind of stuff. I doubt it but if it did that would be nice. But it won't. :cry:

I think that V should take some time now, to record a CD with all of her unrecorded music, like a B-Side or something just so people can hear her amazing talents.  I think she has enough songs now to make a well put together cd.  I mean heroes and theives to me wasn't that amazing, i liked the songs but i didn't feel those songs should have been put onto the record. Hopfully she'll read our messages someday and use that as inspiration for making a really good record.

I would just love to either have her or have someone else do a cover of Meggie Sue, for some reason out of all the songs shes ever written it remains my favorite, it's not so much the lyrics i'm in love with (although they are good) as it is the melody.
