I am in French 3 Honors at my school. I really enjoy french! its just soooo cool!

I sometimes screw up spelling and or noun genders but other than that I love it!

As long as you don't mix up people genders I think you'll be alright.  I don't know about in france but in san francisco that is very easy to do!

haha really?

right now in french class, we're learning about the imperfect tense. It's pretty easy but I'd much rather speak french instead of writing it but I guess it helps the learner.

Yeah, but it was a stupid corny joke.(on purpose)

Doesn't french pronunciation follow pretty simple concrete rules with respect to its written spelling?

Well, the thing is words in French can be pronounced the same but when spelled...  it's really complicated! Take the imperfect tense like I mentioned, if you wanted to say "I was singing", you'd say je chantais. But the "chantais" part is also pronounced the same as "chantaient" which is only used for "they" (ie They were singing - Ils chantaient). And I remember back in 7th grade, if you wanted to say I'm hungry, you'd say J'ai faim and the "m" is silent. But if you pronounce the "m", you'd be understood as "I have woman" (J'ai femme)! lol

In the crazy hospital where I am right now, I've been translating nessa songs into French with my super-comprehensive French dictionary. When I get out, I'll email them to Ghisy to see how much I can make him cry at my poor grammar.
