Ballads -- Is Who's To Say one?

We're talking about ballads in class so I was wanting to show my teacher some of my amazing music and I am pretty sure that Who's To Say is a ballad... But I'm not completely sure. Anyone wanna confirm that. And if you are educated in that, what other songs of hers are ballads?

I'm pretty sure that all of vanessa carlton music is a ballad, in one way or another. There's like..three songs that I can think of that aren't like Nolita Fairytale, Private Radio... yeah.

Yes, I'd say that Who's To Say is a ballad... it is quite romantic, light, simple.

As far as I can remember ballads must have some, but not limited to, the following criteria: telling a story, dialogue. It also is usually about love gone bad, war, fights, and death.
There's more, I just can't remember.

I always thought a ballad was a song that uses all the same chords for the verse bridge chorus and solo but jumbles them up.

No, a ballad isn't about the music it's accompanied by. It's about how the lyrics are arranged and written.
