Absolutely love this program. Anyone else catch it?

Does anyone else have a NESSAholic moment whenever anyone talks about dealing with V... Or doing V...

As NESSAholics I think it's safe to say we're all high on 'V' ;)

lol, never did think of it that way, but I totally get high on V.
I don't care for the few episodes I've seen only because I've read the books and the show veers off from them greatly.  I understand WHY they do it because TV is way different than books, you can get multiple perspectives and in the books you only get one.  I tend not to like things that are based on books (unless I didn't know it was a book first..lol).  Had I not read the books I think that I would enjoy it more.

I know this sounds wrong, but I actually LOVE the gruesome raw nature of the program.

Aside from the nudity (which I think is sometimes a bit unnecessary) I somehow kind of love the blood and the blowing up of the vampires and the ugh...ness of it all. I mean Buffyverse vamps just get dusted, but these guys explode so awesomely. It's just WOW.

I know. I need help. But meh... ;)

lol, a lot of people like it for that reason.  I think it's trying to appeal to a male audience with the gore.  I know my husband likes gore.  He actually like the first book but stopped reading the second because it dealt too much with sookie and bill's relationship. I tried to convince him it got better but he didn't bother.  he liked the show too but when it came down to paying for hbo or showtime, I chose showtime because there are more shows i like on there than hbo

I read the books the show is based off of before I read the Twilight ones.  I had such a hard time getting into twilight and almost didn't read the rest of them because bella is SOOOOOOO whiney.  She is so young and immature compared to Sookie.  Sookie is a woman of her mid to late 20's who knows what she wants and doesn't put up with an BS, while Bella is swooning over someone and basing her entire life on another person.  I just felt it wasn't a good message to be sending young impressionable girls -- that there is one man for you who will make your life complete. uhh no.  we make our own lives complete and a significant other just compliments that or makes it better.  (In my opinion).  i eventually did finish the series, the last book was the best just because of the plot not because of the characters themselves.
