If I put 'gay' in this title, will more people read this?
« on: February 16, 2011, 08:48:13 pm »
So, hi :) my name's James Howarth and I have a YouTube account under the name of 04jhowarth, I'm sure many of you are accustomed to it as I have many videos of Vanessa (woohoo) so head over there if you want to beat all of this introductory malarkey for rare performances e.g. Morning Sting etc

So yeah, I'm James. I'm from England, UK; I'm 17 going on 90 and life's pretty boring at the moment. I did go to college, and then dropped out as it was the worst college in the world. TRUST. But I'm enrolling very soon at another college so all may be forgiven? I'm also a pianist/composer and soon to be author (as soon as I start writing it of course) I also play in a band called The Kitschen. I aspire one day to be an artist of some kind, whether it be art in the sense of drawing, writing, composing, acting etc. I've always wanted to be an artist of sorts however I've always expected things to be handed to me on a plate. It's a work in progress to say the least.

Well, what can I say about V. She was and is still my first true love. I'm glued to her every song; or was, until about 2008 after she'd done her tour for Heroes&Thieves, she suddenly went into hiding it would seem and it was very hard to keep updated. That's when I found Tori Amos. For the past 24+ months, I have listened to nothing but Tori Amos, literally. I listen to no other music besides Tori :| an obsession gone to far it would seem. However, seeing as Vanessa is close to releasing ROTR, it seemed appropriate to start listening to her again.

I was explaining to my friend how I'm obsessed with Tori, but still prefer Vanessa. This is where I acknowledged that Vanessa is and always will be my first, true love.

Aha, welcome to the nut house.

Where in England are you? I'm there too (Nottingham). Sucks.

It sure does, shouldn't you be in bed?! Should ask myself the same thing really. And I'm from Heckmondwike, a shitty little town near Leeds. This country is SHIT, but I love it :) home sweet home.
Thanks, James.

I would love to be in bed, but sadly I have to leave for work in 10 minutes. Never heard of Heckmondwike, but at least it has an interesting name. I think Vanessa Carlton would love that.

Unfortunate. Think I'll go to sleep at 7 and wake up at 7 tonight. What a slobbish/drop-out thing to do. And Heckmondwike, she sure would, plenty of mysterious places 'up North' to ponder upon. What sort of work requires one to be awake at this time in the morning?!
Thanks, James.

I used to have that sleeping habit. There are occasional days where I often miss it, too. I preferred being the only one awake, not having to deal with people, etc.

And I work in retail. It sucks. I dropped out of Uni a few years ago though, so I'm paying the price.

Oh, my God; tell me about it! Just opening a window and being able just to hear the wind. No traffic, no people. Just, perfection. It's so lonely, but like V stated in an intro for All Is Well, a comforting melancholy. That totally sounds like she said it and I agree, but long before I've always found being alone so comforting :)

Oh dear, what were you studying?
Thanks, James.

I concur.

I was studying English Literature & Language aswell as Media Journalism but I dropped out due to personal reasons. It didn't help that the Uni was awful, too.

Right. I better get working (currently in staff room). Apologies about earlier and hope you enjoy the forum. You'll get more replies later on, I'm sure. :)

Welcome!!

(Btw - I love Tori Amos too! Random fact: I found out a few years back that she lived near me - I used to see her all the time while working at the local mall! haha)

Sounds like the college I attended, just crap. And I hope you were on a break/not started yet; I think your management would consider it bad form to be on NessaHolics during your shift.

And all is forgiven, and I hope I do get more replies, just to prove that people read my 11 line essay about my life and LOLd. :)
Thanks, James.

star2b711: :O! No. Way! I guess that you live in Florida then? I'm totally jealous that you saw her whilst she was going about her daily life! What was she doing? Obviously shopping if she was in the mall, but :O who was she with?! Details, details, details! (as you can see, BIG fan right here :D)

WhiteRabbit: ha, I've always wanted to be considered as a 'Vanessa YouTube page' like kamibutterfly713 etc :) hope you like it! And Heckmondwike, yeah, it's pretty small, nothing much going on. RANDOM FACT: Birstall, inbetween Heckmondwike and Leeds, is where Joseph Priestley: Discoverer of Oxygen was born :) and Mirfield, also close to Heckmondwike is where Sir Patrick Stewart is from. Knowing this information concludes I have no life :)
Thanks, James.

Hahaha - I understand the obsession! She used to to browse the small retail store multiple times when I used to live/work there.  Once she was with her husband but other times she usually was with a girlfriend or two.  She usually kept to herself (the first time she came in she had all her hair hidden inside a big floppy hat and I barely recognized her!)  I only talked to her a couple times - my manager once told me to try to sell her a pair of jeans! lol I don't think she ever ended up buying anything from me though - oh well!
