AFI has been forced to cancel the remainder of its current tour for medical reasons. Singer Davey Havok has been advised by his doctor to start immediate voice rest or risk serious damage to his vocal chords.

AFI released the following statement: "We have never cancelled any shows and are deeply disappointed to have to cancel these shows. Unfortunately our only course of action is clear. We truly regret any inconvenience to our fans."

March 6 (Pompano Beach Amphitheatre, Pompano Beach FL)
March 8 & 9 (House of Blues, Orlando FL)

March 16 Remington's (Springfield, MO.)
March 17 Memorial Hall (Kansas City KS.)

Hey everyone, we're very sorry to hear that Davey Havoc developed a cyst on his vocal chords, and that AFI has to cancel the rest of this tour.
Our hearts are with him and wish him a speedy recovery.

We will Honor 2 shows with Thursday now headlining.

March 6 (Sat) - Ft Lauderdale - Culture Room
March 9 (tues) - Orlando - House of Blues

We will do the dates around SXSW in Austin, March 19 and 20. All other March dates have been cancelled, including Oklahoma City.

We're very sorry to our fans who have purchased tickets to any of the cancelled shows, we will give refund information ASAP.

:cry: I'm so sad....Davey is the most incredible singer and now this! Its just so sad....Not to mention I was going to see them in a week. But thats not important. Oh, god, I hope he's alright, he just HAS to get better, he HAS to. I heard somewhere this is what happened to Julie Andrews. What if he can't sing the same again? What if he can't sing in the voice that captured millions of people and saved many? Thats just so terrible...But, no. He will be fine. I'm sure he is seeing the best of doctors. He HAS to get better. If he doesn't, I will question the existence of God even more. Fuck, why do bad things happen to such good people? Even more importantly, why is it DAVEY had to get a cyst? Why not Justin Timberlake?

Musically, you are one of the top 5 most closed minded people I know. Anything that comes across as weird or different you immediatly declare as crap.

Sometimes there is value to recognizing the inrinsic value of a given band or song even if the music isn't your style. And sometimes, just sometimes, you might surprise yourself and like a band or song you didn't think was your style.

Evanescence canceled because after their European tour Ben got REALLY sick and was in a Las Vegas hospitol for a few days.

I love afi. There new cd is great. I was going to see them last month but the show was canceled the day before i was to see them. I was crushed, but i still love them. Check out my davey havok icon. That man can sing, but damn he looks like a women. :lol:
