I don't think that was vinyl. Every time he introduces an artist he always puts a large cardboard version of the album cover on his desk for the camera to see and then says "my next guest...yada yada yada." It did kinda look like vinyl, though (and maybe it was, maybe Nessa gave him one of hers).

Yeah I wasn't a huge fan of this performance.  Definitely a step up from some of her other Carousel performances, but still way too mellow for my tastes.  What I love about the studio version is that it's so light and "bouncy" at the chorus, and I felt like this was too much of a dirge.  It was cool that she had four back-up musicians with her, though.

I think it was the vinyl he was holding. It's the vinyl cover and if you look closely, you can see her name on the side of the vinyl just before he slams it down on the desk.

It's up! She seemed a bit nervous but once she hit the "never too late to change the pace" it seemed like she just evolved, haha.

Yeah, a much larger audience than just those in the studio for the show ;) Excellent opportunity for exposure for ROTR in the 1st week of its release 8)

I get what you are saying. Her live performances are actually usually a lot more mellow than that, so that was actually a step up.. I'm not saying mellow is a bad thing, but they are usually more..thoughtful and expressive. 

I understand. I mean, I've been to one of her shows and I loved the mood and how acoustic it is. I guess I'm just so used to the studio version of Carousel, though. I still think the performance was great and such, but it just seemed really quiet to me. Oh, well. I'm still happy ^_^
