7/11/11 KCRW School Night at Bardot (REVIEW)
« on: July 12, 2011, 02:11:44 am »
OMG best night ever!!! Vanessa played "Hear the Bells" with Stevie Nicks!!! I was literally standing right next to the Rhodes and seeing her perform right in front of me!!! there literally wasnt much of a stage... it was like at least 6inches high...super intimate venue :D so i think i got a pretty good video (they didnt really allow cameras so the video is kinda shaky since i wasnt really looking at the screen... will try to upload soon... the other bands that played were pretty amazing too

Setlist:

Tall Tales
Dear California
Bride
London
Hear the Bells
Carousel

It  was a good night :) I got to catch up with V for a few minutes while her and some friends had drinks. I highly disliked how everyone was talking during her performance and the random fight that broke out. but other than that it was good :] V & Stevie sounded AMAZING together when they did their duet of hear the bells <3 I recorded it and will post the audio tomorrow.

That's why she's been saving it. (: Thanks for recording it. I am looking forward to the video.

OMG.  that must have been legendary.  I'm thinking I won't listen to it though. Not until I hear it first myself live!

Great upload. Nice quality. Vanessa sounds wonderful and I love how close it is to the studio version with the vocal echoes & stuff.

Thank you so much for recording HTB! Listening to it right now...it sounds A-M-A-Z-I-N-G  :o

EDIT: Stevie fans, please don't kill me...but this is the first time I actually like Stevie's harmonies in a V song  :-X

actually i think it's really weird when she sings with vanessa. it sounds like they're out of tune, i don't know. it just sounds weird. nothing against stevie, obviously. my ears just don't like it that much haha (but the little "aah"s after the bridge were awesome! :)). well, but nice to know that vanessa added hear the bells to her setlist :)

EDIT: i really need to learn how to play this song! i love it!
