they are charging 10.23 to ship to Western New York from Brooklyn.. which I think is absurd too!

Just found this article explaining how Vanessa duets on the studio album and happened to notice how it mentions she is dating John Macauley from the band. I don't now how credible the website is, but she does seem quite friendly with them on Twitter.

After Isbell’s cameo with Deer Tick, Vanessa Carlton sang with the group on another Negativity song, “In Our Time.” Carlton, who is currently dating Deer Tick frontman John McCauley, also appears on the studio version of the song.

Nice find! I also just found this:

Quote
One track, “In Our Time,” is a duet with singer Vanessa Carlton, who scored radio hits in the early aughts (2002’s “A Thousand Miles,” for example) before going through her own sort of artistic transformation. They’ve been dating for awhile (“Not so many people know,” McCauley said). They met through My Morning Jacket’s Patrick Hallahan, who played on Carlton’s Rabbits on the Run album, and initially wanted to write together, although it didn’t work out. “Then our relationship started, and she was coming up during the recording,” McCauley said. “I had that song [“In Our Time”], which wasn’t written as a duet. I wanted her to sing something on the album, and I didn’t have to change a word. It just worked out well as a duet, just by giving her that verse.” (Carlton was also recently interviewed for a New York profile of Stevie Nicks, who’s been through some of the same issues facing McCauley before he sobered up.)

Has anyone got "From the Git Go"?

Can Vanessa be heard well in the song or is she in the background? I've only managed to find clips online and it's hard to tell.

Thanks

There's a whole verse that's only Vanessa and then she sings in harmony with the other two guys for the rest of the track. It's a neat song and worth the purchase!

Thanks for the feedback, it's much appreciated! I'll make sure to get a copy in that case!  ;D

I'm loving In Our Time, I normally don't listen to that type of music but the vocal harmonies really work and I find the melody is really soothing and catching. Would anybody be kind enough to perhaps compose some sheets for it, as I'm guessing that there isn't going to be any released officially for it. Thanks :)

Thanks for posting that version, I hadn't seen that one. I've quite gotten into Deer Tick now, their new album is definitely worth a listen.
