Turns out that the company that handles misrouted calls handled about 172, 000 for clay and only 32,000 for rueben.. those numbers would have but clay so far past rueben he couln't have even mumbled his way out of it.  So hmmm... the Idols folks kick a few calls out and put the guy they want in... wouldn't put it past them to rig the thing...  cheers to Simon for recognizing who the real Idol is and giving Clay a well deserved contract too...

I disagree.  What really happened (and this is coming from a Clay fan) is that 172k Clay fans dialed wrong.  

I think Fox' official response was "Misdialed calls is not our concern."

Can't put this one on Fox (as much as I'd like to).

Interesting.. so fox has a method of tallying votes whereby even if a number is misdialed they can still tell for whom the vote was intended, but yet they refuse to count theose votes.  Riiight.. surely i can't blame Fox...

im soooo angry about that... im a huge clay fan.. and i cant believe that happened, but it'll just show when he and rubens singles are both out and clay does much better on the charts and in sales... clays the true idol no matter what they said

well i didn't vote so I don't know (I am in NC, thats why I pointed it out) but Clay's mother said that she couldn't get through, along with most of NC...Now I am sure that not all "ClayMates" are complete idiots, and would have known what they were dialing, so if they couldn't get through, then somethings up...oh well I wanted Ruuuuuuuuuuuben to win (I couldn't stand Clay)...and it really doesn't matter who won or not, because they both basically got the same thing, except one was a runner up and one is the American Idol.

Oh this happened here too 'oh blah blah should've won it was all a conspiracy' The 'conspiracy' here was that if you made over sth like 5 calls they were all discounted so the ravid Gareth fans who called about 15 million times paid- but their votes weren't counted.

well *news flash* the whole of Pop Idol/American Idol is just one big plan to get your money- all of them get contracts anyway, even people who weren't in the top 10 got them here.
