The Mural
« on: May 29, 2003, 06:27:05 am »
facaded stucco fingerpaints lips over crevice
splashes of purple yellow her grey sneer
a dirty finger touches her face
spot in a cozy light fades away
another look in the mirror flick
heels clicking along the memoryless hallway
with a turn and push blast of glare
the commotion her expression
splatters of purple yellow their mindless
exhibition of abstract drifters
jingle door and clearing steam
the suttle background noise grey
the porcelain contained energy
slips into thoughts flashy students
laughter a ring and a slam
splashes of purple yellow fall back
she opens her front door
step out of the mural

This is a story contrasting a mural that a girl is painting to the city life she lives, she is rather sad with her life and feels distant from the mindless motions of the people who seem to run around aimlessly all day.  The first three lines are descriptive expressions of her finishing up her mural for the day.  The fourth line is where she washes away the paint, she makes one last look in the mirror to be sure she is clean and *flick* turns off the light..she walks down a hallway to the front door and opens the door, when she opens the door the city is bright and full of commotion.  I was contrasting her heels in the hallways standing out so much to the volumes of the city.  The commotion is her expression because that is what she is painting in her mural.  The splatter of purple and yellow describes some bright clothing of other students living in the area who are full of life (thus bright colors to potray energy)..Yet she sees them as drifting mindlessly through the city.  She walks into a quiet coffee shop (grey) described more like her mind.  She is drinks her coffee and thinks for a bit and returns out to the street to finish her way home.  The colors fall back when she gets out of the loud noisy city and when she steps into her house it is the same to her as stepping out of her mural.

Anyways, ... Very good, and thanks for the metaphoric break down, ... It was awesome.
