I don't agree.  With fine lines and small text it's .gif all the way.

I like Jpgs better for anything non-animated. It depends on the hosting service...sometimes bad hosting makes gifs come out looking blurry and unclean.

I use psp7's preview in web browser option to compare formats and compression levels so I always get the best, sometimes that's gif, sometimes jpg, I'd always use png if everyone had broadband.
