yes tis true.
but I still love it...I mean everything in the world is marketted, maybe just not this well. So its not fair to only talk about how this one thing is marketted so much. Not to put down anyone thats said anything here. Its just anytime britney or Madonna's name comes up now the first word out of everyone's mouth is marketting.

But think about it, they don't have *great* voices.  Madonna is and always will be an icon, but look at JLo and Britney?  They aren't great song-writers, they don't have incredible voices, and are OK dancers but are at the top of their game.  They are marketed and managed VERY well.
