Problems with athousandroses.org
« on: March 12, 2003, 06:29:45 pm »
I guess having the same forum on two domains can cause some weirdness.

I don't access this site enough yet to put it in my toolbar bookmarks, so when I visit, I usually click through to here through athousandroses.org to avoid the flash at nessaholics.com.

Ok. So far, so good. But nothing works. Every action just takes me to the main forum page until I change the domain to nessaholics.com. Once I do that, everything works.

Well, I did think about putting a small link to the forum on the intro page (html part not the flash) so people could go straight to the forum from there if they wish.  I guess there's reason to do it.  Or you could bookmark the forum. ;-)

why not just go to http://forums.nessaholics.com ??  that seems the quickest to me.

I'll fix the link in the atr pages once i feel like parsing through ugly html for an hour :)  but that will also fix the problem.

and yes, you're right.  having two websites is kinda problematic at times... we're trying to shift things to nessaholics as primary as it should have been all along =)

Thanks. I know that now.

Anyway, the problem still needs to be fixed. Thanks for putting that on your list of things to do!

Why wade through HTML? :D  I didn't, and it should be setup such so that atr.org/forum, forum.atr.org, nh.com/forum all now go to forum.nh.com.

Katia: Hint: look at the vhost files and hidden files in the site roots.

i was just going to change the link to forums.nessaholics.com but i guess redirecting things through all the various channels is even better!

Well, as the pages get updated, fix the links.  But why spend an hour fixing things when five minutes of config file tweaks (and cleanups) will achieve the same thing?  :D
