I would say *no*...

The deal is, they're going to get *tons* of emails. So if you are unable to make it, it isn't worth wasting their time of having to go through the emails. Plus once they notify you that you've won, you go back and say "I can't go" then they have to what, choose someone else?

I just don't think that is a great idea... it should be left for people who can confirm that they can make it to NYC on the 6th.

Hello, my name is Andrew Kulp
I'm from Allentown, PA
I've been a NESSAholic (fan of Vanessa Carlton) since April of 2002.
when I heard 'A Thousand Miles' on the radio, I couldn't get enough.
At this time, I was dying for something new I could listen to that i liked.
I liked Vanessa's music since the very first time I heard it.
A little while after i heared A Thousand Miles on the radio, I went to vanessacarlton.com and registered for the message board.
I got the 'Be Not Nobody' album the day it came to stores, and automatically became somewhat obsessed with it, it would be the only CD I would listen to for a long time. In May of 2002, I attended a Vanessa show in my city. It was a great experence. I wish I could re-live that day over and over again, it was so wonderful.
Sadly, I haven't been to a Vanesssa show after that one, but I wish I could've been.
Sometime around Christmas of 2002, I recieved my Vanessa Carlton T-Shirt with 'be not nobody' written on the front. This was instantally my favorite shirt! I still wear it all the time. Now today, I am even more of a Vanessa fan than i was before, getting ready for her next CD is very exciting! I now currentally have over 21000 posts on the Vanessa Carlton message board, if that counts for anything.. hahaha.
Being a part of many Vanessa Carlton message boards, including the famous "Nessaholics.com" message board, and being a moderator at the message board at 'vanessacarlton.info' I am very dedicated to Vanessa and her music. The NESSAholics on these message boards are some of the best people on the internet.
I even have my own Vanessa Carlton message board, even though it isnt much sucessful, it has over 70 members.
Vanessa has really helped me. Everytime im sad or dont feel good, her music always cheers me up and makes me feel better. At school, im mostly known for being the best Vanessa Carlton fan. I can say easily that i think im the biggest Vanessa fan in Pennsylvania.

awww... yeah, i thought she said that was gonna be in SF!! i woulda so driven up there for that! but yeah... i cant make it to NYC ( i just did that 3 months ago, lol)! o well... it woulda been an awesome late birthday present! lol, the deadline is my birthday.

wow... I went to talk to my mom and told her that attending this thing would me all I want for my birthday. I expected her to say "no way!!! are you kidding?!?!" but she said YES!! its on a saturday. so i could fly to NYC on friday afternoon after school, then fly back sunday and be home in time for school the next day! so as long as I dont miss school, its ok with her... She knows how much this would mean to me, so i guess she's willing to help me!
I sent in my letter... omg! i hope i can go!!

does anyone know when they will let us know who is chosen? because if i am going to fly to NYC i need to make plans very soon! but I dont want to make plans and get rejected from going...

that is so great holly!!! They will let everyone know by Dec 1st. I know that makes it hard to book travel arangements though since you're going to want to get a plane ticket at least a week in advance... hmm

There should be some flights from LA -> LGA through Jet Blue i think that might be a fairly cheap fair even close to the date.
