she co-writes a bunch of her songs or has songs written for her- so i understand --- but a lot of labels buy just random songwriters songs - and in this case she has people that specifically work with her and for her... so i dont know - i think she has a large hand in the songwriting process even if she doesn't write the song...
Yeah, i'm just not sure how much of a hand she has in it. Co-writing could mean she just added in a word here or there and they put her name on it to give her more credibility. I don't know, but how well can she play the piano? And don't refer to that bit of one of her videos, cos i don't believe its her!
Delta wrote In My Own Time and Will You Fall for Me on her album and yes she
does play the bit in the Innocent Eyes video it sounds and looks the exact same live they even do the same camera angle, now even that is hard to fake.
Although when playing it live she misses out her double octave of A at the beginning of this cadenza but plays the right hand perfectly apart from when (if you listen to the album recording) when she has went down 2 octaves of where she started, -she goes back to her starting point- she just continues right the way through. Did anyone understand that? :?
Rosie I do think that it was a bit judgemental of you to think that because it looks hard and sounds hard then it can't be her, it only takes a little practice to pull it off.
I think Vanessa's music is harder than Delta's but that doesn't mean it aint any less good, although the Not Me Not I intro was a bit tricky since you need to stretch a lot. But piano parts like Papa just blow me away!
Just because she didn't sit down and fully write out each note and lyric doesn't mean you should dislike her.
