So who is going?

I really really didn't want to go this year, I find dancing and formal two things that can be very very stupid. So Lately Shellie and Audrea have been all over me telling me I have to go and their going to force me...The thing is I will, but 50 bucks for prom dues is a big ammount to me, that's like not eating lunch for 16-17 days. And I can do it, we have to pay by April 1st, and prom is May 1st.

I dunno, those of you who have gone in past years tell me what you think, did you like it, are you going again this year, or anything...

The official prom discussion thread. Haha

Yes, I enjoyed Junior and Senior prom.  I had a very chivalrous date with whom I got along well.  I liked my dresses, my hair, my shoes, etc.  I think if you're happy with your get-up, your date (if you choose to go with someone), and the group of people at your table (if there is a dinner or tables at which to sit) then you're all set.  You'll have a decent time.

My date (the same guy for both proms) was not a good dancer at all, but I still enjoyed myself.  I left thinking that the whole thing did not last long enough.  The only time I can recall ever feeling really uneasy was when my date started grinding on me to that Busta Rhymes song featuring Janet Jackson.  I felt awkward and uncomfortable during the entire song.  And every time I have heard that song since then, I cringe.   :icky:

I say go to your prom.  My favorite part is seeing one's classmates looking all dapper and dressed up.  The boys smell nice and the girls look glam.  I love how everyone clean ups well for that event.

Besides, if the night is crappy then you have every right to bitch and complain about it cause you actually attened.  That's better than never really knowing what prom was like.

If you choose not to go, do plan on a prom-alternative.  Go out on the town.  Get dressed up anyway and spend those $50 doing something that would make you happy and excited .   :)

I am so not a dance person, but I knew I had to go to my prom.  I hated my dress, hair and makeup.... despite that... I had fun.  I had the BESTEST prom date ever.  He is such a clown, but a hottie.  We had LOTS of fun and the after party was out of control.  You get one prom... go.

The after party was out of control because you contributed to the madness.

I never went to homecoming's or tolo's or any of that kind of stuff, but I did go to my prom, once in a lifetime thing, I had a great time, after party was fun, my date was gorgous, what more could I ask for?

My Prom Photo

It wasnt the greatest night of my life or anything but I think it was worth it.

i went to prom last year! it was a lot of fun! and then my friends and our dates slept over at my friend's house... we just hung out all night, swam, watched movies... etc. We didn't sleep, lol. And then the next day just has I was about to go to sleep my prom date called me and we went out again with some friends. So I didnt sleep for 48 hours... but it was one of the best weekends in my life! but i think it's kinda fun to dress up and i love dancing, so i'm into that kinda thing. And it's like the only chance i get to do that.
I am DEFINITELY going again this year!! Actually... maybe i'm going to 2! But I'd only pay one of the times and use the same dress, lol. Let the dress and date hunting begin! (last year I got both my date and my dress 6 days before prom, so i want to be prepared this year)

My 'prom' (or Leavers' Ball as we call it) was such a let down. Its such a HUGE thing in our school, the guy i went with asked me like 8 months in advance- i had built it up in my head so much that it was such a let down. After such a build up- thinking i was going to get with him- he asked out another girl a week later. Ahhh such is life.

A pic- i look funny in this one, but it was really hot! My hair's gone wrong too- but you get the general idea.

At college we have parties at the end of every term- this term its a Spring Boat Party, i'm thinking of going but not sure yet.

some of my prom pics from 1999

we were both very theatrical so even our professional photos were kinda funky - he has me in his arms in those(picked me up and was carrying me around) - i will have to find one and put it up it's pretty cute!

i will tell ya one thing though - i didn't like my coursage - It was massive - tooo big - i would have rather had like one orchid rather than a whole arm of roses and what not...

my date was my dance partner in show choir and we had been friends since 5th grade county honor chorus---we had so much fun - swing dance was in and we were one of the few couples that knew how to - he flew me around and I was so glad I wore pretty little flats because we tore it up!
I had a lot of fun ---

Oooooooooooh, I  velvet! I have a black velvet skirt that my g-ma gave me, I hardly ever wear it but I refuse to let it go - it's gorgeous! Hehe.

I'm excited for prom but I have yet to find a dress...

we dont have a junior prom (only a junior dinner dance which is a semi-formal).  I really want a pink dress...   And, I did have a date but then my boyfriend and I broke up; so I'm still workin on that too haha
Oh well, it'll still be a good time as long as my friends are there.  But I WILL have a date... just haven't figured out who yet hehe
