Yes, I enjoyed Junior and Senior prom. I had a very chivalrous date with whom I got along well. I liked my dresses, my hair, my shoes, etc. I think if you're happy with your get-up, your date (if you choose to go with someone), and the group of people at your table (if there is a dinner or tables at which to sit) then you're all set. You'll have a decent time.
My date (the same guy for both proms) was not a good dancer at all, but I still enjoyed myself. I left thinking that the whole thing did not last long enough. The only time I can recall ever feeling really uneasy was when my date started grinding on me to that Busta Rhymes song featuring Janet Jackson. I felt awkward and uncomfortable during the entire song. And every time I have heard that song since then, I cringe. :icky:
I say go to your prom. My favorite part is seeing one's classmates looking all dapper and dressed up. The boys smell nice and the girls look glam. I love how everyone clean ups well for that event.
Besides, if the night is crappy then you have every right to bitch and complain about it cause you actually attened. That's better than never really knowing what prom was like.
If you choose not to go, do plan on a prom-alternative. Go out on the town. Get dressed up anyway and spend those $50 doing something that would make you happy and excited .
