I just got back from recording a CD!
« on: April 26, 2004, 04:11:21 pm »
Yay! I was planning on going in the studio (which is really nice, by the way) for awhile now, but now I've actually made my first CD! There are only two songs on it and they are Paint It Black and My Immortal. I'm going back there over summer break to record 14 more songs :D OMG this is like the first time I've been really really happy in awhile! lol

You've got recording studio time and all you can think to do are covers?

Not like studio time is that expensive these days.....

Why not do covers? I think it's more just for fun than anything else.

You can't get studio time for less than 20-50 an hour even at odd times and in a crappy studio.  And that's assuming you bring your own engineer!

And if it's just for fun, why pay that much?  If you are just having fun you could rig your own ghetto stuido for the same price you would pay for a day of stuido time.

It makes no sense to me!

I only have like 1 real song, and it is too personal for me to record right now. I write mostly just lyrics, but sometimes try to make songs. and the songs on the CD that I'm going to record in a couple weeks are:

Going Under (evanescence)
Unsung
Everybody's Fool (ev)
Taking Over Me (ev)
All I Ask
Anytime (kelly clarkson)
Low (kc)
Imaginary (ev)
Paint It Black
My Last Breath (ev)
Twilight
Missing (ev)
Angel (a capella) (sarah mclachlan)
sig & av by natalie, thank you!

GREAT list! Missing's gotta be one of my most favorite ev songs. And I've always wanted to cover Unsung... such a fun song to do!
