Some of these peoples' outfits gotta go!!

Why is J Lo wearing that floppy hat indoors? Um, are we hiding or drawing more attention to ourself?

I didn't see all of it but what I have seen hasn't been too great. Poor Kerry sisters.

yeah, but what did they expect when Jeb Bush is the governor of Florida?  The reaction I got from a lot of people was that they hated that whole segment.  It appears that (on my campus anyway) the sentiment among college students and Americans aged 18-25 are sick and tired of celebrities telling them to vote on shows like the VMAs or Good Morning America.  I personally didn't like it either, especially all that vote or die crap.

I thought the in between stuff was crap, but some of the performances were decent. But Puff Daddy just went ON and ON about voting, and then the short interlude with "Breathe, Shake, Something" was just bull.

Jessica Simpson - Awesome, "With You" was good, "Angels" was amazing! This girl has raaaaange. And the fact that she can hit such high notes LIVE is awesome.

Christina/Nelly - Pretty good. Christina sounded good, Nelly was okay.

Alicia Keys/Stevie Wonder/Lenny Kravitz - AMAZING. Stevie rocked my socks off as always. Three musical geniuses on one stage! Awesome! Okay, so calling Lenny a musical genius is a stretch, but he's rocking. Great performance. Great energy.

Usher - He sounded good. Good energy. Usher rocks.

*is happy they didn't make Ashlee perform* She didn't have to perform right? if she did *is glad that he missed it*

WTF has happened to Jessica Simpson!? Her performance was AWFUL! Me and my brother were just sitting there wincing. I mean, its obvious she has a really good vocal talent but somebody TRAIN it! When she can't get the note she starts singing like a) some strange jazz singer or b) like her voice has suddenly turned electronic and its hideous. I am also MORE than angry about the fact that she slaughtered one of the most legendary songs here- Angels by Robbie Williams- she murdered it! Luckily, everyone who saw the VMAs here will now hate her for covering one of the most famous songs of our generation.

Agreed.  Her version of the Robbie WIlliam's song isn't half as good as Robbie's.

BUT realize that 90% of the AMerican population wouldn't even know the song if it weren't for Jessica.  So if she prompted just a few people to check out the original, than it's a good thing.

I've known about the song since Robbie Williams sang it and I like his version...I have the CD it's on....I can't stand her version though.....I believe someone else sang it before Robbie did, but I'm not sure who....
