Meeting Vanessa?

I'm sure this has been covered but since I'll be attending my first Nessa show on 11/5 I was wondering what the odds of actually meeting her were? And what kind of luck all of you have had because I know you've had some lol!

yes, get there early and stay late... when i say early i mean like.. if the show is at 6 or 7 you get there at 1 or 2.  there is some time inbetween sound check and such so you have a chance of hitting her up then.  If you wait till after the show, there are many other people there usually.  However these seem to be rather small venues so it probably won't be that bad.

I so hope to meet nessa and give her our new CD when we play after her at the Crocodile (Seattle) on 11.20.04.

We're driving to Macon ,GA the night before which is like 3 hours from the venue, so we'll get up early Friday morning to trek it the rest of the way unless we can make it all in one night, it's 7.5 hours. Maybe we can.

I'll take all that advice into my plan. I'm determind, come hell or high water, to at least get to say hi, and tell her how much her music means to me. Sounds corny, but it's genuine.

I'm going to Carlton's show this Wednesday. Doors open at 7:30PM. There are 2 opening acts. What time do you "Vanessa Carlton experts" think I should be there by?

Get there around 4, if it's general admission and you should be front row for the show.

As for meeting Vanessa (which is the title of this thread btw!), just listen to Vultch:

I guess I'm going to have to be in the front row for the first two opening (I don't care for them much) acts and stay there until Vanessa Carlton comes out huh?

He's right.  Stalk the bus.  She has to get off/get on sometime, unless she gets a molecular transporter installed, which, as of this writing, has not yet been invented.  It took her about 50 minutes to come out after she bowed off the stage, but it was well worth it!

Well, this show I am going to of Vanessa's will end roughly at 11:30PM and my drove back to my place is about an hour. Is it really worth it to stay after the show for an hour....and there's a good chance I might not even get to meet her.

If you meet her, then it's definitely worth it.  If in question, look for the bald-headed dude with the little beard helping with the equipment.  He's the one in charge.  This is him, to the left of Vanessa:

His name is Mark-- You probably don't want to annoy him though if he looks busy let him be... but sometimes he'll be smoking or something and you might ask "Hey, is Vanessa going to do autographs tonight?" or something.

At the most recent shows there hasn't *been* a bus.  If you get there early though and stay late... your chances are in the high 80's to meet her.  She has been incredibly supportive of meeting fans lately and willing to do autographs / pictures!

Since TX is such a random show kinda far away, part of me wonders if she won't just fly down and fly back instead of taking a bus down.
