I was actually wishing I'd put the Harmounium leek on my system after my
only copy of Harmonium was stolen last week but this U2 cover is the best
reason ever to order the Japanese version of the album. So impressive

i absolutely LOVE the piano in the beginning.  I would give anything to see her perform it live... i kept trying to get the Low Millions to play it just to mess with teh VC

For those of you who haven't seen it; the Classic Albums rockumentory on
U2's Joshua Tree gives great insight into the production and recording. Its
worth noting that working on The Streets Have No Name created incredible
friction in the studio, to the point the master tape was almost thrown out!

Has anyone tried to tackle her arrangement of Streets yet?

I so wish.  If anyone does I'll give them a million dollars... that song is just awesome.  I love the way she put it together.

I'd love Nessa's arrangement so I can make a new wallpaper featuring it :thumbsup:

I hunted around online but its clear from the distinct lack of Piano chords in
print that before VC - nobody had tried to perfect the Edge's riffs for Piano;

It's supposed to be the oldest living organism in the desert. They can't put a time on it, because when you cut it, there's no rings to indicate how old it is. Maybe that's a good sign for the record!

I think U2 were aware when they recorded Joshua Tree that the symbolism
included a sense of timelessness about the music, that it could live forever

Perhaps that's what attracted V to Streets in the first place; the 3rd single
didn't achieve the same #1 success, but was certainly worth resuscitation

The desert is fascinating to me. As an image, it's both positive and negative to me. The desert is a location for music; it's dry and arid. Some of the music is dry and arid. It's wide open space for music.

Since I 1st listened to Streets I've seriously conidered ordering the import :wink:

I wanted to buy it from Japan... And I wouldn't mind about the prize, but if from USA that is near Brazil, it takes 5 and 3 days to get to me, I even don't like imagining from Japan, one year? maybe 2....

Played Streets for my bro who came to visit over the weekend :wink: He's a
huge U2 fan and was really impressed by Nessa's cover. We also talked
about the Classic Albums documentory & the tale of the master tape

Just out of curiousity, why do you have the fanscape sig which has nothing to do with Vanessa and then paste in another sig in every post?
