Um, YES I can read sheet music. All I ever listen to is the studio version. It just never sounds right to me. But he never posted the sheets, anyway, so I'm misinterpreting what he wrote.

riggghhttt  yea it is and was definatly posted

Wow!!!  8O  I thought I had a pretty good ear! YEAH RIGHT! You all are awesome!!!

If I had a million dollars it would go to all of you who figured this all out!

(Okay, actually if I had a million dollars, I'd buy a big house in Texas and never have to worry about a job in my life, but it's not like I'm the first one to admit to not REALLY meaning what I say in this thread... )

Sorry, Steve, I didn't even catch that you had posted the notes. I was talking about the other guy who just wrote out the notes. I haven't tried your version yet.

Hey guys & gals,

Tell me what you think of White Houses & Afterglow... if it sounds right & all. I saw White Houses up at sheetmusicdirect.com and its sooooo bad!! It's her melody mixed in with repeated C's in the left hand. How UNaccurate! Who would want to play that! Go check it out.. it's blech.  8O

I'm gonna write sheet music direct to see if they will accept some REAL piano transcriptions like we see on here! haha

Hey guys & gals,

Tell me what you think of White Houses & Afterglow... if it sounds right & all.

-B.

I sat down awhile ago and was able to play out White Houses up to "We promised each other it's till the end..." (Yeah I know it wasn't real far at all.)

Anyways, when I printed out the sheet music you offered, I think you have for the left hand CCCCC -(Crashed on the floor..) CCCC... etc, then you go to B (for Stay up too late...)? Sounds better when I play A.

You asked so that's the only reason I decided to say anything because it might just be the piano. I have no idea when it's been tuned last, so it might be a little off. I just play A instead of B, and when I play to the CD, it sounds right...

JMO. ;) Thanks again for the music. You have an awesome ear.

yeah. i wrote it with the A. mainly because i think the B sounds too disonant, but oh well. they both work really

Man.. I'm sorry 'bout that. I would say Monopoly money at the least (like someone else said) but I don't think that much even comes with the game. That means I'd probably have to go out to buy another game or two, at what, about $15-$20... I'm already tight on cash, that would just put me in the hole.

....Hmm... How could I make it up to you??

THANK YOU!!!

That was free, too!

Thanks for your opinions. But the harmony there is actually a C/B (C chord in RH with B as the bass note). The B is a transitional or "passing" note on the leading tone of C, through to the sub-mediant which is the A Minor chord (on "spinning empty bottles). So when you go to A immediately, you are skipping the important passing tone, and the progression from C to B to A. The B may sound a little dissonant, but she was going for dissonance.

Sheet Music Direct agrees with me on the B harmony.. but their version is pretty bare. Again, thanks for your feedback!  :)

Well I couldn't figure out why it doesn't go any larger than size 24... That spews chunks... Size 24 wasn't what I was going for, but ... I guess it'll have to do. LOL
