With this record VC was growing as an artist in so many ways. She worked on lyrical ability, arrangement, and her own personal production abilities. You think VC rocks now, just wait.
Even if you don't like the music she came out with and the mixes she used you have to give props on the apparent progress as an artist she is making. As with any piece of art it reflexes not only who she is but also our culture. And it apparently does so. Artists don't come up with ideas completely on their own accord, rather the way they construct art depends partially on the ideas they are exposed to from other people around them. Some of her songs more than others do this. AWBTW sounds like objects of VC's mystical side. To me that is almost totally her. The subject matter sounds almost incoherent and to some maybe a bit crazy or insane. But so many very intelligent people have this HUGE mystical side to them. It is something of her own world, and her own genius; if not easily entered into.
