I have to agree with you on that one.  I think we had to read it my freshman year of high school, or maybe middle school.  And I think my mom watched the movie on Lifetime.  Stuuupid.

I don't even know how the heck they made a movie out of it, but in the story it basically goes like this... there is a town that has a big lottery.  Except it isn't the kind of lottery you want to win.  Whoever wins gets stoned to death.
