In death, he will do more for the Palestinian cause than he did in life. Two reasons. The first is that sympathy will press Israel into making offers for a Palestinian state. Secondly, Arafat's replacement is unlikely to be as uncomprimising about the conditions of such a deal.

HA!  Quite a funny joke there friend!  Got a good chuckle.  Ever been to Israel?  Then you'd find a REAL grasp of how much the hatred is between the two factions.

Sharon wouldn't give a Palestinian a glass of water if the Palestine had been in the desert for 100 years and had just saved Sharon's life.

He has probably been dead for the last two years. Oh well. He was an amazing freedom fighter, but he just couldn't make the leap to statesman. Maybe with his death someone will step up who can make some real changes.

Fortunately Israel is not an autocracy, and Sharon isn't a king. Already Israel has pulled Jewish settlers out of the West Bank and Gaza. Now if they would just get rid of that stupid fucking wall.

Israel made an offer. Arafat rejected it. Pretty much, Israel offered them all the lands they currently controlled. Arafat didn't think that was good enough. He wanted more and he wanted Jerusalem.

A former girlfriend is an Israeli national. I have to know this stuff.
