Well, in that case, get on a plane to New York, go there and find his house. Then break in and rob his ass blind. If you're not up for a felony that night, then sneak into his bedroom and wake him up. Then ask him for his phone number. It's that simple. He may give it to you, he may call the police, hell, he may even bitch slap your ass, but at least he'll know how serious you were about wanting to get to know him.

I'd wait at least one full day.  2 or 3 days is pretty much the standard for me.  That way I don't feel like I'm stalking the chick.  Then every other day unless the relationship really gets rolling.   About a week after that call you know if the woman is interested enough in you.  I don't usaully call but every other day unless there is a real need for it during a relationship.  It depends on the person and the situation.  When you start spending ALOT of time together (like too much time) for several months then people sometimes move in together.  And so on.........

I go by the three day rule.  I hope that helps.

If he is in another state getting set up with his life and very busy it might take alot longer, but I'd say yeah.  I'd start not holding my breath on the fourth day.  But every guy is different.  The longest most guys take are the ones which go by the three day rule(like me.)  Some people are one week people or an open weekend.  But those are rare.  I like the three day rule because it ends up being a more relaxed convo and most women who are worth it, in my experience, aren't going to put you out for it.  I suggest talking to women about it instead of guys because I'm sure alot of us don't know how to make your side of the call.  I'd know after about three days most women are just not interested if they get my number out of the white pages and don't call.
