Well yes and no...
We go to my dad's side of the family on Christmas Eve and we have the exchange thing, on Thanksgiving we each put our names in and pick one, somewhat similar to a secret santa. But people know who have each other. So we open those gifts, gifts from god parents, and gifts from grandparents. And on Christmas day we wake up bright and early to open our gifts, load the car, drive to my mom's side of the family and open gifts over there.

so yes and no...

You know that Dirrty feeling when you wake up with no pants on face down on the floor of the city bus and you got like a condom in your ear? Thats the feeling we are trying to create! - Sarah Michelle Gellar

I'm usually up until 2 or 3 so it's technically Christmas day already but what difference does a couple of hours make. Especially after you've outgrown the whole Santa Claus thing.

We open ALL of the gifts on Xmas day. It usually goes like this:

7:00 - 7:30 - I wake up and open my presents at home and go back to sleep

11:00 - 12:00 - i go to my grandparents house (mom's side) and open my gifts

12:00 -2:00 - call my friends

2:00 till 1:00 am - ppl come to my house and we open presents, get drunk, eat alot, gossip, and so much more. Next day i usually get on a plane to visit my dad.

I prefer to open them on xmas day cus its more fun!!!! and my cusins still are in the Santa Claus stage.

My brother and I exchange presents, that's it.

Why? Because when we were little, we were always so excited and couldn't wait, so our parents let us exchange presents.

I've always opened some presents on Christmas Eve, and I can explain why.  I have a bunch of dispersed branches in my family (and that's branches with a lowercase "b"), and as such there are usually at least three or four different dinner-and-exchange events to attend.  When I was little, my dad's family always met the Sunday before Christmas, so anything my grandparents, aunts, or uncles got me from that side was opened that day.  My mother's family always had dinner on Christmas Eve night, and we opened up our gifts from each other there.  Santa Claus gifts usually appeared at the grandkids' houses while we were there at Granny's, and they were usually opened either really late at night (like after midnight because we stayed at Granny's really late some years) or the next morning.  When I was little, my mother's grandmother and her family had a Christmas dinner on Christmas afternoon, and we always went out there until she went into a nursing home.  Now I rarely see any of my father's or great-grandmother's family anymore.
