I send my deepest sympathies  to Vanessa and the entire Carlton family.

For me it's a glance
And a smile on your face
A touch of your hands
An honest embrace - VC, Home

I like how that announcement was so tastefully written, without an "Oh, and by the way, her granddaughter Vanessa is a famous musician blah, blah, blah...."  A simple mention by name, I felt, was very appropriate because Vanessa is not the focus here.

I agree, it was very tastefully done. My condolences to her and her family.
