.....it does not come easily for me most of the time.  I have confidence issues because it always seems like other artists (like Vanessa) are so much more naturally talented than I am, but I really want to be an inspiration to anyone who's ever felt like an underdog...anyone who wants to do something, but feels like they can't.  I didn't even THINK of trying to write a song until I was about 21 because I didn't think I COULD.  It seemed so impossible.  So it's pretty cool to be able to prove yourself wrong over & over again, one step at a time.  I just want you guys to know that I certainly appreciate your wonderful comments, but anything "amazing" that comes out of me is the result of simply the desire to create something great - no matter how long it takes.

I hope you understand my point.  This is such a long post!  lol

Yeah, I understand. I've been writing songs since I was... well, since I could talk, but I really thought I was too dumb to play an instrument. Now I play a few (mainly piano and guitar), but I still struggle with doubt because I look up to artists like Nessa, and because I hold them in such high esteem, I feel that I could never be as good as them, musically. I just have to remind myself that Vanessa (or another artist) writes her own fantastic music... but she couldn't write MY music, because nobody can do that except me... and the same applies to you. No-one else can write to express Shannon Thomas' thoughts and feelings, know what I mean? And I have to say that the lyrics for Intruder are cool. I like dark-ish songs!  :D

^Hell yeah!^

That has always been my main motivation.   :)

And thank you, Megan Jane!  Have you heard the song or just read the lyrics (for Intruder)?  It's up on my myspace page right now.

I just posted a new song called "You're a Ghost" on myspace.  Check it out!!  www.myspace.com/shannonthomas

YOU’RE A GHOST

Passing years don’t count for much
There are ways to keep in touch
Without ever trying
I’m stranded in your presence
You find a way to show your face
Without ever knowing

Chorus:
You’re a ghost, a living ghost
I miss you most when you’re here
You’re a ghost, a living ghost
You’re too well known to ever disappear

Here and there and everywhere
I’ve had more than just my share
I can forget forgetting
There’s the you that I have found
That I know too much about
And yet there’s so much I’m missing

Chorus

Over time nothing dies
Every piece of you is gone, yet you are still alive
I wish I could blame you
I want nothing more than to just be through
With your face
I see it every day

There’s the you that I have found
That I know too much about
And yet there’s so much I’m missing

Chorus
Cross paths with what you used to have. You've gotta learn that you've gotta earn
The fantasy

I love your music! Love the new song. Makes my broken heart feel at ease.

Thanks!  Like I just posted on my official board, I am SO excited about this song.   :)

And I can't wait for the final mix of "Tragic" 'cause it might be my favorite song that I've ever written.  Maybe.   :)
