Recently saw Ms. Slean live, most amazing thing ever. Since Vanessa has close to 0% chance of coming to Cape Breton Island   www.sarahslean.com. It was amazing, just having dumbed down versions of songs from her new CD and stuff. I like her style.

Her old stuff (Universe) is THE BEST. The new stuff is okay, but not nearly as amazing as her old stuff is. She is incredible. I don't know if they are selling Universe anymore. I actually have a cassette tape of it--that's how old it is ;) And then she put it out again on CD. And Blue Parade is just an insanely good album. Ahh. Her unreleased stuff is amazing too, like Closer, Ogoni Star, Last Year's War, etc. Incredible. Been a fan for a long time.

Sarah Slean is awesome. I have been listening to Day One regularly for months and is my favorite CD I have purchased since last November.

I agree that her early work is amazing. Night Bugs, Blue Parade and Universe are all fantastic CD's. She is an unbelievable talent who deserves more recognition than she has received so far.

She needs to tour the US.  :D

You can order Universe online at Maplemusic.com.

I agree, I have a digital copy of Blue Parade till I buy it. My Invitation. :: quivers :: Playing Cards with Judas? Eliot? High? So many greats. I don't have Universe sadly. :( I need to get some more of her! When I met her i forgot to get a picture or autograph, I'm sooo smooth.

LOL. I listen to EVERYTHING! :) But a lot of the artists that people are just now discovering I've been into for years, and a lot of them, like Slean, I was introduced to through a network of musician friends. :)

I am tempted to go to the Buffalo, NY show. It is on a Saturday plus she is headlining.
